Some projects are straightforward—this wasn’t one of them. The Hub required a single, definitive partner capable of managing a high-density, multi-layered structural scope moving far beyond simple roofing. Globe Iron was mobilized to execute a highly complex intersection of roofing membranes, hot-applied fluid waterproofing, ballast sections, and deep architectural finishes—ensuring a seamless, uncompromised transition from amenity common areas to the high-rise skyline.
Managing the Multi-Faceted Envelope.
High-rise installations involving simultaneous landscape, pedestrian, and utility zones are notorious for severe “scope gaps” when divided among multiple subcontractor trades. Globe Iron eliminated that structural liability by taking complete, single-source ownership of the entire waterproofing envelope.
High-Performance Low-Slope Layering
We don’t roll over bare decks. Our teams laid down an engineered subsurface network starting with robust vapor barriers. The main roofing lines received a fully adhered white Carlisle TPO membrane system with flawless heat-welded seams, fortified by custom-fabricated coping systems, parapet wall flashings, rooftop walkways, and heavy-gauge protective support pads for HVAC equipment and permanent fall protection systems.
Monolithic Sub-Surface Waterproofing Mastery
For the stone ballast and paver terrace zones, our technicians executed high-liability, multi-layer waterproofing assemblies. On the terraces, we deployed primer, heavy-duty reinforced hot-applied waterproofing, specialized drainage layers, structural insulation, and ballast fabric before perfectly leveling the concrete pavers on adjustable pedestal supports.
Green Roof Ecosystem Foundation
The amenity and green roof areas demanded an entirely distinct tier of biological defense. Globe Iron crews integrated high-spec root barrier protection systems side-by-side with precision-pitched tapered insulation boards. This critical subsurface framework was designed specifically to support future landscaping layout and intense water drainage components while completely meeting stringent manufacturer leak detection and warranty requirements.
A Hard-Working Skyline.
By carefully detailing every penetration, wall transition, and elevation change with premium counterflashings, specialized sealants, and custom termination systems, Globe Iron delivered a pristine, single-contract defense network. The completed footprint at The Hub stands as proof that our team doesn’t just chase volume—we solve the most complex building envelope puzzles in the urban landscape.
